The second series of "Old Yorkshire" was issued yearly by William Smith the Morley Historian, and published from 1889 to 1892. Each book contains over 300 pages, along with many illustrations (a few photographs, many etchings and lots of drawings). Each book contains articles from many authors on varied aspects of Yorkshire as can be seen from the Lists of Contents below:

Unlike the 1st series of "Old Yorkshire", the second series contains only a General index (as opposed to Indexes of Places, Names, and General). These 3 indexes are available here on-line:

The prefaces and introductions of these books can be viewed as pdf (Acrobat) files extracted from the CDrom:

The above Acrobat file was extracted from the CDrom and shows the quality of the images. You will need at least version 5 of Acrobat to open this file. If you do not have an up to date version please go to the Adobe web-site to obtain a free version of Acrobat Reader.

For other Yorkshire miscellanies, please see "Old Yorkshire series I" (also edited by William Smith), and "The Yorkshire Geneologist and Yorkshire County Magazine etc." edited by J. Horsfall Turner.
