Navigation of the books on the CD rom is enhanced by the use of "Active Links" in the contents pages.
"The Story of Old Halifax"(over 300 pages) was written for older school boys and girls "with the hope that older people will find it of interest" and describes the parish, its location, woods, farms etc. It then goes into detail on the church, houses, halls, the gibbet law, feuds etc. A very well written book and informative book.
"Halifax Industrial Society" (over 200 pages) . Despite its "boring" title, it contains lots of people's names and photographs of people and stores. It gives an insight into how things were done over 100 years ago.
"Old Elland" (over 200 pages) describes exactly that, but also includes a description of the author's home and school etc. It includes information on the church, the clergy and some of the Elland families.
"Illingworth Church" covers the church from its foundation and has one chapter per incumbent with more detail for the later ones. There are also lists of Churchwardens, Lay workers, councillors etc. etc.
