This Gazetteer is by far the best I have ever seen, and covers the whole of all the countries in the British Isles (this includes the whole of Ireland), though there are no maps.

There are just over 2,700 gazetteer pages contained in this PDF file, plus 130 pages of Appendices.

• The appendices contain:
  • A tabular view of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (population, areas, births, deaths, marriages etc.).
  • Summary of the Poor-Law returns for 1866-7.
  • Digest of the Census returns for 1861

• The Title page, the introduction and the first page of the Gazetteer in pdf (Acrobat) format
• The first pages of the Appendices in pdf (Acrobat) format.
